THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. With a deep-rooted love for family law, Ashley's current legal practice revolves around various aspects of family law. She concentrates her practice on divorce cases, alimony issues marital property division, child custody battles and child support arrangements. She also handles the post-divorce and enforcement of issues, step-parent adoptions and private adoptions for parties as and concerns regarding child welfare. Ashley has been a mediator appointed by the court since the year. She assists parties in resolving their disputes without the need for court or litigation involvement. Ashley mediates private matters as well as court-appointed mediation for those who want to stay clear of court proceedings and litigation.

After finishing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she earned two bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was placed among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was a Note Editor for the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This demonstrates her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

Following the completion of her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship experience, working for prominent jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned home to her hometown of Hagerstown to be a clerk for Honorable M. Kenneth Long at the Washington County Circuit Court, further enhancing her knowledge of the local legal landscape. Learn more about Ashley Wilburn

Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her main focus within the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters involving child welfare. Through her tireless efforts, Ashley played a vital role in assisting children who were victims of neglect or abuse at from their parents or caregivers. Her dedication to social justice extended beyond the realm of law as she actively served as an executive member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force, which worked hard to educate the public about human trafficking in the tristate area.

In 2017 she was a founding partner at Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., and developed her expertise in family law including divorce, custody guardianships, child maintenance and divorce and financial and estate planning - wills, trusts, power of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies and mediation.

Ashley created Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC with the goal of providing a personalized approach to every client's needs.
